We picked up from Assado tonight. Judgment: very positive; great addition to the neighborhood. A little expensive compared to pizza or Chinese, but quite reasonable for the quality and type of kitchen. We'll repeat it. Full BBQ Chicken $18) was very tasteful and not dry. BBQ Beef Ribs $22) had excellent beef taste and was not overwhelmed by the delicious spice. Texture was noticeable. Pork Cubes with Shrimp $19) was excellent. Pig meat was tender and shrimps were not even gum-like. The addition of spicy plastered vegetables was very clever. All dishes came with very generous portions of yellow rice and spiced frits that were some of the best fries we ever tasted. We did not eat in the restaurant, but it looked very nice inside with a really comfortable, entertaining atmosphere. The Portuguese BBQ in Assado is not all but some of the Peruvian offers in the Pepe's BBQ at Pleasant Valley Way. The two restaurants are about the same as our house. Pepe's is a little less expensive. Undoubtedly, we will prefer Assado if we want this kind of food. We will try some of their other dishes next time.
