This place is legit! Look no further if you are looking for a place worth to wine and dine in la moraleja. Aspen has got it all: excellent food, classy yet cozy ambience, attentive service (rare in madrid), varied wine and cocktails, and the friendliest owner family who makes you feel like you are over to eat at their house (son and daughter combo work the kitchen and service tables, and they are just the best). We live in la Moraleja since 2018 and go to Aspen 1x every 2 months or so and have never had a bad dish.. not even once. Things as varied as fish, pasta and burgers are all made with craft attention and care. My mind is always shocked how La Maquina is constantly packed, when Aspen is 3x the quality of restaurant as its neighbor. Hidden gem i guess. Kudos to the Aspen ownership. (Ps: there was a period in which they changed to be “company” not “aspen” and i think it drives some of the bad reviews here).
Aspen (formerly called Ascot) is one of the long standing restaurants in La Moraleja. It is used to be equal to great service and food. I was a bit disappointed when, during our latest visit, our fish dishes arrived cold, the service was not as professional as one would expect but the price continued to be quite steep when looking at the quality of food and service we had to endure. Pity that it seems to be neglecting some of the features that used to be its signature.
We had a very nice dinner in Aspen. The place is stylish and the service very pro. The food was very good in particular the meat dishes with pieces of excellent quality. The few seafood we had was good but a notch down compared to other restaurants of this range. Overall we felt that for the price, the restaurant is a bit below its competition in the area.
