Angelic Caffe - Table reservation

We visited on our first night after spotting this as the #2 restaurant in Chauvigny. It was a really disappointing experience.Firstly the place is in a bit of an identity crisis. It's traditional French looking on the outside but inside it's a bit like they are going for a contemporary look. A bit confused, so it's hard to feel at home. It was clean and tidy though.Staff were ok, not particularly warm and friendly but the service was ok. We were however the only seated table apart from a couple who left as we ordered drinks.The food was where the restaurant was paticularly poor. The bread that was served was so stale it was like eating toast, it had no taste whatsoever. I had a starter of duck terrine which was actually quite nice but my Mum and Dad had egg mayonnaise, this came late after the waitress said 'five minutes for the eggs' we then heard the beeping of a microwave and the eggs were served seconds later, cut in half - half warm half cold.I had a cod and langoustine dish for main, the langoustine smelled strongly of fish and was clearly not good. My partner had the veal head but this was beyond tender, literally like eating a trifle. Parents had a beef bourvignon which they said was nice but was clearly microwaved again.Overall views - the restaurant doesn't feel traditional nor does it feel contemporary. The food is not fresh and is likely to all be frozen and reheated. Considering that there is an amazing market in Chavigny three times a week there really is no excuse for not having fresh ingredients.

Certes, c'était le 14 juillet. Mais le service était intrusif et le repas médiocre. Le burger estival n'en avait que le nom, et les desserts étaient ratés. De plus, une addition trop salée à notre gout. Dommage.

Les plats proposés sont des classiques, leur réalisation est très bonne et servie copieusement. Juste un petit bémol sur la qualité du pain. Mais c'est globalement une très bonne adresse.

accueil super, cuisine excellente et fait maison. Nous avons pris le menu "chauvinois". Au niveau qualité/prix rien à redire. Parfait !

D'excellents repas avec des produits soigneusement choisis, dans une ambiance bistrot. Le service est sympathique.
