We've went for lunch and it was really one of the best experience we've had in the mountains. With all its simplicity, warmth, and breathtaking views. You feel like you've escaped from the rest of the world.The menu is simple but so much suits the location that we found it just perfect. Have you ever had this feeling that you are a welcomed guest at a local family, sharing their food and their place with you? This is the feeling!It's really a beautiful, authentic place which I would recommend for everyone seeking to see as authentic as possible, nowadays, mountains hospitality in a comfortable way.I hope we will go back to this small paradise one day!
You access the refuge through a pleasant 30 minutes walk/hike. Or they come to pick you up. In winter it's a great raquette trail. The view is spectacular and the restored refuge is cozy with a beautiful outdoor terrace and lovely atmosphere. Super friendly service which is also efficient and responsive. Simple mountain type menu with excellent ingredients. Good cheese and charcuterie especially. And the bougnettes alone are worth the trip. This is a home made potato beignet which is served a volonte with the menu. One of our best mountain refuge food experience this year. A perfect lunch destination.
We found the restaurant by accident when hiking in the area. The restaurant is located on the field on the mountain opposite of Mont Blanc and thus presenting a spectacular view to the mountains. First we decided to have a drink in the lounging area on the lawn. Unfortunately the terrace was fully booked for lunch, so we thought that we would return to the village. The a thunder storm hit us and we decided to lunch inside. The food was good and the service was great. Cannot wait to return with the reservation!
Simply the best restaurant at alpage that we have visited,excellent food locally sourced,amazing views,reasonably priced with very friendly service!
