On March 24th, a little more than a week after we arrived in Rota, we came to Alma Verde for a date night. This place had been recommended several times to us so we made sure we got out to do some exploring! The wait staff were truly excellent. Our Spanish wasn't great (we were still learning not yet confident) but they spoke amazing English. She was so sweet soft when she spoke and I felt very valued as a patron. The next day, we actually saw her taking out some trash as we walked down the street and she smiled at us, obviously recognizing us. Anyway, back to the food! My husband can't have dairy but he had this superb salmon (which he said, even if he wasn't dairy free, would have picked because it sounded so good) and even had a dairy free dessert. That happens maybe 1/15 times we go out because restaurants very seldom have desserts without dairy. I had this amazing dish (pictures attached) and was what I got every time we went back because I loved it so much (and it was so unique and different not a dish you find just anywhere). We also came here again in September, shortly before we left Spain, for a to go meal. They weren't able to make the dessert we wanted in a take away container so they so graciously gave me the little dishes and just asked that we bring them back the next time they were open we when we were also back in town (which was, like, 4 days later). We did that and were so very grateful that they allowed trusted us to do that!
