Only visited the restaurant based on the menu and prices we saw on the board out front. The waiter was just doing his job, but said we MUST order drinks for everyone. Tap water being the cheapest option at 3 francs. We ordered a pizza to share, and when asking for plates, were told they would be 5 francs each!! Yes, it was written on the bottom of the menu in German. And finally, the pizza was pathetic. Seems they are trying to hard to be artisan and forgot what food is. The base was nice, but just a single slice of prosciutto, spoon of cheese and half a cheery tomato per slice....and all the topping was cold.

The chalet is beautiful and stunning. I got the single room with Mountain View. I didn’t bother with the jacuzzi even though the staff were offering my an good price for upgrade. The food here is so good and the place is cozy. I cannot recommend this more! The staff here are the best! They went to lengths to make my stay perfect! I had left my luggage and went for a hike. Unfortunately someone had forgotten and had locked it away and left. One lovely staff member drove me to the train station so I can catch my train.

The front desk supervisor, Martin, is the nicest and most jolly fellow you’ll come across. He gave us an upgrade to a room with a jacuzzi that’s on rollers and moves outside your bathroom. A fun experience for a night at least. Room was in good shape, pool was nice, and the location is perfect in the beautiful town. Restaurant was delicious. Pizza (for which I have high standards) was excellent and the pesto pasta was unique and tasty.

A cozy place right in the middle of Kandersteg, a small town which is a winter resort but also well known in the summer for hiking and climbing trails. The restaurant is wonderful. Reservation during the weekends are recommended as it can be busy with tourists. Nice bar, cozy terrace settings and inside romantic table decos.
