I’ve never left a review, but had to on this one, this is a 1 star dressed as a 4 star because I can’t sink to the level of the unit I’m about to refer to. The chef here goes to other local restaurants and ignorantly leaves bad reviews. He came to my restaurant, shoved his business card in my managers clearly occupied hands and proceeded to order off of our small plates section that has house milled masa products, laminated doughs and hyper seasonal proteins $10-15 complaining there was no “bang for buck”, shortly after complimenting everything like he was on the food network. After that, he ignorantly and continuously called our Costa Rican food Cuban hey theyre all the same, right? , critiqued our atmosphere on an off season Monday night then passed the bill off entirely to his guest like the real hospitable person he is. Meanwhile I was coincidentally at this restaurant when I saw the review come in, stating the above. I had the pleasure of eating flatbreads from the freezer, unopened mussels, a Caesar salad that was laughable and shishito peppers in the middle of May with the most broken romesco I’ve ever seen, littered in syscos finest micro greens. Again, I’m all for supporting my local community even if the food needs a doctor, but the ignorance of this guy who is serving sheer lazy mediocrity forced me to leave this review.
