3 West Restaurant Bar Newtown Square

Was looking for a casual place to grab a bite on New Years Eve before going to a party. Wanted something without reservations or special menu. Had never been to or heard that 3 West replaced the old Double Edge but saw it on Open Table. Decided to try it as there were openings. Turns out the place was really empty the entire time I was there. They've cleaned the place up a bit from the Double Edge days and closed off the side dining area as a private room apparently. The bar area remains decent as it was under Double Edge. Large selection of craft and local beers. The bad news is that the food remains as uninspiring as the Double Edge days. It's a mostly American comfort food kind of menu with some Italian thrown in. The execution was very average. If you just want to watch a game and grab a good beer, I'd recommend 3 West. As a restaurant not so much. Food isn't horrible but also nothing special.

that was more a sandwich-and-burger place than I expected. the menu was somewhat more limited than their website showed (the website did not update because it changed the menu.) I was looking for a little less casual. Nevertheless, the burgers were made perfect and everything tasted great!

We only have apps and dessert and can really not complain about food as it was good despite the presentation, but do not think that we will return, as the seats were not comfortable and I got the feeling John of Barrettung would scream about the kitchen:

The food was ok 'the service was poor. Only positive about the evening was the 20% coupon. Will not go back again.

The cook left. Back to the basic menu. Disappoint.
