General If you drive from Heppenheim towards Erbach, you come through the district Kirschhausen. In this restaurant lies in a curve on the right side. It goes a little steep downhill to the entrance, then it goes left into the guest room when you cross it you reach a small beer garden on a terrace surrounded by a lot of green nature. We had taken a seat on the terrace and waited for five minutes for the female operation, after which we went to blow. The young service was very friendly, fixed, ready-to-be, special requests were accepted without any problems. A complaint at the side table was accepted without if and but. The menu consisted of one side with the daily offer. The offer ranged from fish to wild. There were four menues. We took number 3: day soup, veal steak with pawlings and croquettes with a side salad plus a dessert. The soup was a cauliflower soup with cabbage, hot and fine from taste. The supplemental salad consisted of carrot, herb, cucumber and rollosalate. Well dressed, very well seasoned, fresh. The calf steak was very well prepared and delicate, tastefully good. The Pifferlings in Rahmsoße also very good, the highlight, if you like, were the croquettes, four pieces of above average size and made yourself, far better than what else you get offered. The dessert was an iceball garnished with a cherry cream and mint. It was the perfect conclusion for a good meal. The menu cost € 13.00. The ambience The guest room was well-bourgeois when you can say so. The table covered, tablecloths and decks. On the terrace stood then plastic tables and chairs, the only decoration was an ashtray on the table. You could do more. Cleanliness The restaurant is very well maintained. The toilets are very clean and bright, but only pass over a staircase in the basement.

The restaurant is located in a suburb of Heppenheim and is mostly frequented by local people. However, excursionists, hikers and buses are also welcome. We came to lunch during a bus trip. It was ordered after the card, no pre-order, yet everything went about 40 people plus normal guests relatively fast. Very nice service, very competent. Various dishes are on slate boards outside the door. These dishes are not on the daily menu in the restaurant. So read and remember. Had ordered 2 x goose breast, after about 35 minutes the operation came and explained that no more were there. You could have noticed that before. Then they left on goose bumps, which was very tasty. Other travellers had different menus from the daymap that went quite fast. The guest room is quite large, at the edge the tables are in small niches. In the middle big tables, there you sit uncomfortable. Great parking in front of the house. The toilets were clean, but it smelled pretty strict, no towels to dry only toilet paper. We were the two. Once there, the goose dinners were always very good. Recommended for a trip to the Odenwald near Heppenheims.

It is not necessarily the most cozy place because it is actually a basement in a hillside location. On the one hand there is a beer garden and on the other hand a bowling alley. However, the noises are important when you order a carving (in this case a Cordon Bleu): not opening a freezer and rustling a large frozen bag, but knocking a carving. It was tasted that the Cordon Bleu was freshly panned and fried. Very nice: the sauce was extra and therefore has not drowned the crispy panned meat.

We were for the first time in the mill cellar, which looks not particularly inviting from the outside and were pleasantly surprised: the quality of food, service, price/quality ratio, everything excellent!
