Zeughausbar Uster

Zeughaus or Züghuus as the locals call it, has been around for a while and over the past year they have been re-decorating.The bar looks really nice now, contemporary, different coloured lights, dark furniture, lovely spot lit custom paintings, large beautiful bar, vast seating areas, 2 pool tables as well as 2 fussball tables. It also has a makeshift stage for when musical acts perform.I like how they've done the place and I love the amount of space you have to freely walk around unlike any other bar in Uster. It would rival many bars in Zürich for that matter.They have a large variety of drinks and beers. They also offer food and I've had the burger there. While it's nothing outstanding, it was a decent burger. But food is not the reason to come here.As is the case with bars, it's pretty tough to get the attention of the bar-staff to order a drink but they really do try their best and are a cheerful bunch of pleasant people, unlike their arrogant comrades in Zürich city. If you see Anissa, say hello!On weekends they have DJ's spinning making sure they hit all people's tastes in music, RnB, hip hop, reggae, salsa, bachata, pop, etc...It's very popular amongst the locals.I thoroughly recommend it if you're in the area. Take note, it only opens at 5pm.

Pure rip off! It was a quiet night... we were the only guests inside. So my girlfriend ordered a mojito and my boyfriend ordered a gin and tonic. Before that we had already ordered a gin and tonic outside, which was 14 CHF. Now it was suddenly 20 CHF for the drink! So a cheek for the fact that the store was empty. The reason: club business (as I said, the store was empty! Both drinks were completely watery. Even I, who don 't like gin at all, didn 't taste the alcohol. After they both asked at the bar, the bartender cheekily said, Are you an alcoholic?! After that, the cocktail was completely ruined. Conclusion: flop!!!

Drinks very expensive plus a surcharge that is not visible on the menu (violation of the price regulation) and the waiter didn't even return the money, never again! Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

The location is very nicely decorated. Music is poor. Trying to save on every corner - you don't even get a few nuts when you order wine for 90 francs. Level of the service is accordingly
