In the Rhein area people go to the Wine House and drink at the table, quietly and slowly while having conversation with other people. Mostly drinking the local wines of the area and having a small snack too. Not to mix with a Beer House that is normally bigger with many more people and noisier.The Böllchen is a Wine House, small with Gemütlichkeit, old house with old furniture, intimate. Go there in the late afternoon and enjoy the local wines while eating some tasting food to accompany. Take a couple of friends, or just your partner and enjoy the evening in the way the Rheinlander does.They serve food in smaller portions but they are tasty and adequate to go with the wine. Do not expect a full fledged restaurant. Weather permitted there is also a charming garden with tables.

my wife and I were looking for somewhere to eat while we stayed in a nearby hotel when we stumbled over this wonderful facility. the owner seemed to be hesitant at first because it already had a quite complete restaurant. she advised us to find a table, and she would come to us as soon as possible. not only that she served us very quickly, but she brought another worker who spoke better English than she did. this charming lady advised us to have the sausage and cheese plate. it was amazing and I would recommend it to everyone. when they are in this area, stop them and try to eat here.

what a great surprise, this cozy weinbar with a small selection of cold food and a suppe or two to find. beautiful evening with a good selection of local wine and a fantastic atmosphere
