Village Cafeteria

We were staying at a local campground and the owner recommend Village Cafeteria. It takes you right back to the 70 's and early 80 's. You grab a tray and your silverware. Walk up to the Cafeteria line and tell the servers what you want. The other review hit the nail on the head when it said they have the down home food all the church ladies used to make. They even bake up several homemade cakes. I asked the lady what type of frosting was on the coconut cake and she said it 's 3-minute frosting the kind your granny used to make. It was the best coconut cake I 've had. We just loved the down home feel of this place. Takes you back to warm comforting times of the past when life was slow, good food from your older relatives was plentiful, waiting to fill you up. It 's so good I 'll probably go back tomorrow too. The ladies working were as nice as can be. Very highly recommend to anyone in the area or passing thru.

Another little mom pop that was worth stopping for lunch. Cafeteria style and cheap. Everyone was friendly, the beef tips and rice were very good. Back to this area plan to stop again soon.

Most house chefs in our area serve us type of Bland. I really enjoyed my dinner here. Great place. I definitely come back.
