The restaurant is a 14 seat chef’s table in a modern kitchen housed in a French villa. Our menu was a 15 course tasting paired with 5 wines. All of the food ingredients were locally sourced. The individual dishes were amazing in creativity, taste and presentation. The owners/ chefs discussed the ingredients, sources and preparation as we ate through the menu. It was quite fascinating to learn how they created these amazing dishes from some uncommon ingredients found in the Tarn valley. The wines were very nice but the thing that really sets Pinewood apart is the magic in the pairings. It was apparent that the dishes were created with the wines in mind and it really showed in how some of food flavors and smells really popped with the paired wine. A very special place.
This experience was truly breathtaking. It was like we had a front row seat to an spectacular Broadway Show. There was this rhythm in a calm ambience and we started off with champagne and bites. We then moved to other regional wines and more bites. Each dish has a story, we got to see the plants, the producers, the passion from the chef and then we tasted it. Spectacular!!!! Anne Thomas, are both wonderful people and am so so happy I got to celebrate my wedding anniversary with my husband in this restaurant. It was truly PERFECT!
Thomas and Anne have made Villa Pinewood a destination restaurant with the experience they provide to their guests. The local, fresh food is delicious and the preparation continues to evolve and is better with each visit. The wine pairings are always superb and superbly presented by Anne and on this visit we may have had the best set of wines I can remember. Super job. Bravo! Bon fin de l'annee!
What an experience! We really advise the epicureans to test this incredible concept of a gourmet guest house imagined by anne and thomas that make us travel in the terroir of the black mountain. A real treat was perfect! the rooms of the guest house are superb as well very good standing. Thank you.
