Vanxai's Laos Thai Restaurant

Obviously people have not tried the other Thai restaurants in this city because this comes up flat in flavor on every dish.The Crab Rangoon were not good at all, but the shrimp app was good. Sauces that are included is just the typical Thai chili sauce.Meekrop had too much sauce and over bearing oyster/fish sauce The matsamam curry was bland and not a strong curry taste.Staff were friendly, but this missed on our expectations of good Thai food we have had many times.Should of stuck to Siam or Boons.

Talk about authentic Thai food.This place doesn't look like much from the street or inside either.But the food is no short of amazing.Definitely the best Thai restaurant I've eaten in Winnipeg and other cities in Canada.I love spicy food and they will make it as spicy as you like (I know others will too).But I never eaten anything here that was less than spectacular!Definitely definitely eat here. You will be stunned!

We were looking for a Thai Restaurant in the St Vital area that was opened for lunch on Remembrance Day and came across Vanxai's. Food was great. Ordered the Crab Rangoon, Stuffed Chicken Wings & Gang Kah(#21)soup. The two of us were comfortably full with leftovers to take home. Lunch was a steal at $30. Would definitely go back.

The restaurant is small and does not have the best atmosphere but the food is phenomenal. Best Thai food in Winnipeg! Extremely reasonably priced and large portion sizes! $12 will get you a very large dish with rice that can be easily shared between two people.

Not very big, but food was great. Clean restaurant, good service. Atmosphere was simple and had a local feel without being too tacky.
