Went here as a group of 4 after looking forward to it for a while due to the reviews on here. Have to say we were disappointed. The welcome was friendly and the waitress was very attentive and helpful all night. However the food was a little bizarre. For a start there was no choice, just a set menu from which could choose 4, 5 or 7 plates. Several involved seafood which my wife doesn't eat so that proved a challenge. The starter was a lukewarm combination of cardoon (large chunks of celery-like veg), raw (?) bonemarrow which was like popping a cold lump of fat in your mouth and tasteless whelks. It was not pleasant. This was followed by another lukewarm dish of smoked eel puree, topped with a partially set egg yolk, boiled potato with small leaves (they looked like brussel sprout leaves but maybe not). Not horrible but a little odd.Main course was a rather underseasoned piece of veal with a selection of cheffie lumps and purees. Again not terribly hot.Desert was better being ice cream and parfait etc. and in between was a rather nice mouth cleanser of coffee and grapefruit ice.The wine list was OK.We all left feeling we had not really enjoyed the meal as a whole and that we'd be subjected to the chef's flights of fancy. I don't mind experimentation but it needs to work and if you are going to put 'out-there' combinations on the menu then at least provide a choice. You will soon see what sells !

Went here with friends for a celebration meal, hoping for something special but it was dreadful. The restaurant is nicely decorated and quaint but that is the best bit.I can only presume that those that have rated it Excellent had a very different menu to us. Maybe we were just unlucky on the night but as there is no choice whatsoever, we were lumbered with it.Starters of artichoke, whelks and large cubes of beef fat(!) was not a great way to kick off. Then cold, runny, apparently fried, egg with eel, then the main course of veal - which was passable. Don't go here feeling hungry because there is not enough food to satisfy a manly appetite, even though you take a 4 or 5 or 7 course option. The best bits were the amuse-bouche and the grapefruit and coffee sorbet. The dessert was fine. We have all lived in the Perigord for over 10 years so know & love the perigordine food but this felt like the chef was mixing flavours and ingredients just to be "arty". Not to our taste at all. I think you have to be a very adventurous diner to come away happy.

You are welcomed by the with a large and warm smile in a recently renovated old house with a modern, refined decoration. You have up to 7 recipes combined in 3 menus with perfectly chained sequence of 4, 5 or 7 of them. The wine selection is respectful and tailor made to the dishes proposed if you go by the glass. Presentation if the dishes is as fine for the eyes as it taste.Locally made crockery combined with stones and straw originally and beautifully backup the expertly cooked delicacies.Staff is discrete, friendly and effective so your attention is concentrated in enjoying the company you came with and the food you share with them.A perfect place for a "in love" couple or a small group of good friends.A place to discover!

Warm welcome, comfortable dining room, delicious set meal, willingness to accommodate food allergies .. every course beautifully presented .. the baby gem lettuce with parmesan cream on a tomato tapenade was sensational ! Looking forward to returning very soon !
