"Honestly, this restaurant is just plain awful. The food is pricy for what it's worth. Only the salad was ok, and even it was too salty. All the food tasted quite salty. Perhaps their karaoke is better (never tried) and you get to at least experience a modern ordering system with iPads. The interior is also quite nice."

We should have known better when we saw the word karaoke in this restaurant. Don't get me wrong, I've nothing against it. In fact I love them. But let's face it, food isn't usually great at a karaoke joint. But our beloved Japanese joint, Zenya was closed for renovations so we thought we'd try this place. Expensive mistake! Greeted by a woman (possibly the owner or manager) who was busy on her phone rudely ushered as along with one of the staff to a table. Orders are done via a touchscreen tablet, which was fine and our orders came out surprisingly quick. We ordered oysters, lotus root chips, mixed tempura, crispy chicken skin (signature dish), sashimi, pork belly don (rice), cold soba and soy bean drink. Lotus Root Chips - although crispy, it was greasy and doused with a teriyaki like sauce. It's like the oil wasn't hot enough when it was fried so it soaked up all the oil. Mixed Tempura - 2x prawns, 1 each red & green capsicum, 1x carrot, 1x zucchini, 1x sweet potato. Nothing special at all. Crispy Chicken Skin - supposed their signature dish. It looked leathery and tasted worst. Sashimi - 3x salmon, 2x tuna, 2x thin slices octopus, 1x scallop cut in halves. Fresh. Pork Belly Don - firstly awful presentation. The rice was splattered into the bowl, few pieces of poorly cooked pork belly with no flavoured or colour thrown on one side and salad leaves on the other to fill the gap. Cold Soba Noodles - probably the only decent dish. Not much to fault on. To sum up, foodcourt quality food at restaurant price. If that doesn't put you off this place, while we were eating the same woman that seated us walked past loudly asking a staff if they were doing a poo in Cantonese. Regardless it be another language, it's not something that should be converse in any restaurant.

Booked a medium size room for 3 hours for 10 ppl for my birthday and was told we could spend $300 for food and drinks. My husband settled the bill early paid $400 (extra $100 the night before public holiday) so my friends won't fight for the bills but then I was told we have $80 left to spend however we couldn't order any more food/drinks because the bills was already paid. And if we insist the boss will get the workers to cover the cost. So we basically got ripped off, been to so many karaoke places but this is the first time we had such issue. Won't be back rather go somewhere else. If you are going to this place, I advise you to inform all your friends to settle your bill only at the end of your karaoke session!

Had the so called "lunch special" which I believe was apparently ramen noodle. I can't describe it in words except it wasn't even remotely close to standard japanese cuisine. It tasted something like chinese noodles that you mix up on a sunday afternoon at home. Speaking of chinese, the staff here spoke mandarin to one another which leads me to believe this restaurant is isn't korean or japanese owned. The service was ordinary, staff look disinterested and the atmosphere wasn't quite there. Would I return? NO. Would I recommend this? NO. There are a handful of other japanese restaurants in eastwood that offer more and for good value.

We've been here a couple of times and while the fare is average, the fried rice is surprisingly good/moreish with nice slices of pork belly scattered throughout and a bit of a kick from the kimchi.I suspect most people come here for the karaoke first and the Japanese oriented food is a bonus. The 'snacky' menu setup and predominantly empty tables in the restaurant area seems to hint at this also. Suggest looking elsewhere for a japanese/sushi fix.Service is efficient.
