"The building the houses the Workshop Eatery is very cool and modern. The dining room is cool but very loud so do not expect the best space for catching up with an old friend. My meal was tasty but cold. The plates are a good size and there a some very healthy options to choose from."

Always looking for new restaurants in Edmonton so went for dinner with husband...price $175 which included 2 cocktails/ 2 wines/ 2 appetizers/ 2 entrees and 1 desert. Overall experience was okay but portions are very small (even for nouveau cuisine)..The room is nice but for the small portioned $36 entrees I don't want to be sitting on IKEA chairs and smelling a wiff of bathroom everytime someone goes. (I am not exaggerating). Food (waited very long time for cocktail to arrive and then waited a while for appetizers and restaurant not that full)The appetizers (liver pate / arancini) were tasty, nice presentation but very little pate with too many berries atop to even taste the full flavor of pate and the arancinic was fried in old oil (though it's sage pistachio pesto was very fresh and delicious). The entrees: The BC Halibut was very tasty with flavorful sauce however the Halbut was literally1" by 2" by 3" in size (if that). The pork medallions wrapped in porchetta (3 small ones) was a big disappointment. The pork was rare in middle. I realize that chefs are preparing pork 'pink' but raw rare is not a thing. Told waitress and she went on to school me on the safety of it and it is the way the chef meant it to be. She took it back to cook further and brought it back to only be mildly improved. Still rare in places. The sauce dribbled around plate tasted like maple syrup from my pantry. The rice stirfry was tasty. Desert: pana cotta was ok. A yoghurt based pana cotta which was very dense and had powdery film to it. Not great. The candied nuts atop were tasty. It was our anniversary and informed waitress initially. Not expecting anything but hey my food was sent back and was not satisfied, at the very least she could have comped the desert. 3 stars for service and overpriced food that was just okay for concept being sold. Will not go back. There are better farm to table restaurants in the city.

We really liked the meals here. I ordered the veggie melt which was yummy, sweet and savoury. My friend ordered the carpaccio which was great. We both had chips, home made and good but nothing extraordinary. We started with an elderberry liquor and rum mojito and they were awesome. It was my friends birthday. She ordered the flourless chocolate cake. It was just ok, they made a nice effort for her birthday (see photo). I ordered the panna cotta which my one bite tasted great except the candied peacans had gone off. My friend tasted it too and confirmed the peacans were rancid. I asked our waitress to take it back and remove it from my bill which she did but no other effort made. My decaf coffee never made it to the table. The service was friendly and quick and I'd still give it a 4. The noise level was high and would have been worse had it been more full. We will definitely try again although probably skip the desserts. Love the gardens outside and the sustainable building.

This place was mentioned by another member in a different review so thought we would give it a try. We both had Eggs Benedict. They were cooked perfectly to order. Hollandaise sauce was very good. Potatoe hash could use more flavour. Shared a coconut tart for dessert and it was very good. Regular menu items sound interesting and we will definitely return. They have their own garden and use as many local products as they can.

Just stopped in for a glass of wine and dessert to check it out. I didn't see anything on the menu that caught my attention besides the strawberry shortcake. Wide open atmosphere is kind of loud. Andre had the chicken which was a good portion and quite tasty. The Malbec was Devine as usual although a bit pricey. Too many flies interrupting our meal to be enjoyable. Hopefully next time will be sans bugs.
