The Withies Inn

I have visited The Withies over a number of years and Friday's visit was such a disappointment that my guest asked if it had changed hands. The waiting staff appeared inexperienced and disorganised not knowing what to do. A tiny quantity of bread was provided it took a long time to take our order and the beef stroganoff was disappointing in its quantity and quality. For £27.00 I was expecting much better.

wow! what should I say? owners and employees extremely polite and friendly, as well as knowledgeful and eating was fantastic. the menu was from the year with prawn cocktail and steak wellington the highlights for me on the menu as well as a wonderful wine card. the restaurant an old traveling inn from the 16th century was adorable.

first visit since the pandemic began, so almost 3 years, but still excellent vuisine and great service. smaller menu choice than before, but do not distract from the different food options. large prawn pil pil and tasty dover sole as special. always worth a visit.

An institution, service so personal you wonder how they do it. Amazing atmosphere, good menus in restaurant and bar, love the wine list. Also think they should bring back the waistcoats.

Was taken out for lunch for a special treat. Would recommend the food was excellent with good service. A little bit pricey but worth a visit.
