I always visit this pub whenever I find myself in this part of London, as it 's an excellent ale house with a good atmosphere. The pub usually has around eight cask ales available at any given time, always in tip top condition and served up by a friendly, hard working team of bar staff. Cider and perry options are also available on draught and they have a decent selection of craft keg beers to choose from as well. Food is available in the form of classic pub snacks such as pork pies and scotch eggs, as well as cheese boards and filled rolls. They had the fire lit on my recent visit, which was most welcome and they usually play music from an old record player, with a stack of vinyl records to pick from. The pub 's main issue is that it 's a victim of its own success my recent Saturday evening visit saw the place packed thanks to its relatively small interior and limited overflow space into the small patio 'garden ' to the rear. However, if you time your visit right, this is a great pub to settle down in for a session and remains my 'go to ' place in NW5.
