My partner and I went to this restaurant on Thursday evening for a date night dinner. I had been wanting to try the chowder for a while, so I ordered it as my starter and it did not disappoint! It was delicious and presented beautifully in a small cob roll. However, there was an unfortunate incident when the waiter accidentally dropped my partner's dinner all over him, leaving grease and food stains on his clothes. The waiter, who turned out to be a supervisor, was very apologetic and took my partner's dinner away to be remade. I asked him to take my dinner and the sides we had ordered as well, but he refused. When the dinners were brought back out, mine was cold. I brought this to the waiter's attention, but he was dismissive and unhelpful. I then spoke to a female who I was told was the pub manager, and she was extremely professional and kind. She had two fresh dinners made for us and even took all of the food off the bill as a goodwill gesture. I was pleasantly surprised by her generosity and she truly turned our disappointing evening into a positive experience. She is a valuable asset to the company.

We came here for Sunday roasts and were not disappointed. The white baby and boy catcher was of a generous portion size like the roasts. I had the hotplate for the head that was a fair part again. With your Sunday roast you will also get a cauliflower cheese that was very beautiful again. The server is friendly here and can advise you on the dishes in the menu. You only get a two-hour slot to eat your meal, but that was a lot for us. If you want to, you can visit the bar for more drinks or sit outside. Parking here is a bit hit and miss, but there are many places within 5 minutes walk. There are disabled parking, but there are a lot of stones so maybe go a bit rough. Overall, we will definitely return as the fish cake looked good!
