The Nags Head - Reservar uma mesa

We have been on PDL for the past ten years, having originally bought an older van and then nearly six years ago replacing it with a brand new one. We have absolutely loved our times on the site, as have the three generations of our family who have spent time with us on holiday. Very sadly the time has come for us to have to move on for reasons totally unconnected with the site or our love of this part of France. We will greatly miss the ever-helpful Allison and all of her team, along with the great Kevin and Rob in the Nag’s Head bar, who have transformed the facilities and have created a wonderful ambience that even survives the Covid crisis! Allison and the team provide a high quality, professional service which ensures that everything runs smoothly whether you are buying, selling or just enjoying staying in your mobile home. The leisure facilites on-site are excellent, with both indoor and outdoor swimming pools: at least two of our grandchildren have learned to swim in the indoor pool before progressing outside. The area around the site has much to offer with a number of lakes, often with beaches and of course the coast is only about thirty minutes away. Along with a number of towns and villages of differing size and character, the Vendée offers enough variety for all tastes and interests, from the casino in St Jean de Monts to the theme park at Puy du Fou and everything else in between, including the home of the Vendée Globe single-handed sailing race that starts and finishes at Les Sables d’Olonne. PDL represents ready good value, as evidenced by the number of people who have moved their homes onto the site. For us though, few things can compare to the feeling when driving on to the site and knowing that we were ‘home’. Long winter nights in the U.K. were always made easier by consoling ourselves with the thought that it wouldn’t be too long before we were back in our mobile home in the Vendée. It is a huge wrench to leave our lovely little corner of France, PDL and such wonderful times.

We recently bought a mobile home on this site. We have been looking around for a good site for nearly two years but obviously it has been made difficult by the pandemic. We kept coming back to Prairies du Lac because the facilities looked ideal and because Allison the manager was so honest and helpful. Other sites have similar facilities but not similar management Allison was the deciding factor. Nothing was too much trouble (endless questions to try Allison's endless patience and she gave us very good advice at all stages. Due to the pandemic we bought the mobile home without seeing it or the site first, but we are totally delighted with both, feeling we have made the right decision. Having holidayed there recently we can't wait to get back as everyone was so welcoming, Allison and the site lived up to expectations (and the bar thanks guys and the weather was lovely!

A lovely site conveniently placed in Vendee. A short easy drive to the nearest supermarket in Aizenay and minutes to nearest beaches. The close by lake offers a safe swimming area for children and places to eat and snack. Onsite it is a very friendly atmosphere and includes indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a great English style pub The Nags Head' manged by Rob and Kevin where a good selection of drinks and great menu are available. Various evening entertainment takes place most nights. The very helpful office is always ready to advise and assist with any problems. If your considering buying a mobile home this is the place to be. All in all a great place to have a relaxing break. Well recommended.

WowAsked chef a few days ago for one of his specials for my birthday.Arrived to a course meal designed by chef based around our previous visits.Grilled Prawns in a spicy rubPork fillet mignon with roasted root vegetable mash with a lush cider and pink peppercorn sauce.Caribbean Miranda fruit tart with mixed Berry sorbet.Beautifully cooked and presented.If your not sure what you want and you give these guys a few days notice you will not be disappointed

We dine here regularly and have never had a bad, or even mediocre, meal all have been presented in a mouth watering way and have been delicious. Its not just the food that is good, but the service too, not to mention regular live music. Add in friendly locals and welcoming bar owners and you have a wonderful atmosphere and experience. Would definitely recommend.
