The Love Of Grub

Five Star Brunch today! Been looking for chicken and waffles locally for some time with no luck until we met Tracy at a local benefit event a few weeks ago and she told us about her place nearby in Clifton. She told me she made boneless chicken with her waffles and I thought it might be some chicken fingers, but no!, it's served with a full size, boneless chicken thigh, seasoned in buttermilk batter and fresh fried up. All the benefits of classic chicken and waffles but no bones to deal with. Served with a spicy (or not spicy) syrup on the side and you can get a side of real maple syrup as well. Perfectly seasoned and cooked and served up by a very pleasant staff. Big portion, too. Excellent! I gently persuaded my wife to try the shrimp and cheesy grits (also on the regular menu) and to both our pleasure they, too, were excellent. Nice size shrimp in a flavorful (not spicy) creole sauce on a bed of cheesy grits. Super tasty! The best stuff outside of NOLA. Very highly recommended for the great food and service for breakfast, lunch or brunch!

What is not to love here. Delicious homemade brunch. Everything is cooked for perfection and with love and care. The owner is a treasure and always around catering to your needs. It's like a little oasis, hope away from home. The decor is super unique. I am a coffee aficionado and was so glad that the coffee was also great! We had the eggs and waffles and they were wonderful! Haven?t decorated waffles with such perfect texture in a really long time. Disintegrated and airy at the same time. Will definitely be back with more friends and family. Thanks for so great food and service!

For the first time here. Atmosphere very sweet an artwork absolutely lovable. I have tried our server at another table that is very opposed to a customer who wanted to make a complicated change on the menu that it was super pleasant and patient. I had the chicken and waffles with a sharp maple syrup. The chicken was perfect and the waffle was good, but I also heard that the cook told another customer that it wasn't their usual recipe. The biggest takeaway from my culinary experience here was how much waiting staff and kitchen really care. We're coming back! Thank you.

A friend told me about this gem months ago and I finally got the chance to go. This place didn't disappoint, as you get the coziness of the shore with a city vibe. The food is delicious, the selections various and bring your appetite as the portions are generous. The owner Tracy and her staff are very personable, they cook with love and go above and beyond to make sure you'll leave satisfied.

Really great environment, super friendly staff and the food looks and smells amazing. I had an amazing salad and loved him! Coffee is also great!
