The Fairmount Grille

Really loved this place for a while, came a few times and was obsessed with the chicken parmesan (sauce is out of this world good). I did find that depending on the chef, sometimes it was better than others. The last time I went though, I was served raw chicken.... TWICE. The first time I took a good couple of bites before realizing the texture of the chicken was off. Upon further inspection I realized that the cutlet was completely raw inside. I let the waitress know, and the apologized and offered to have the kitchen remake it. I was really hungry and looking forward to my favorite dish, so I agreed. The second time my dish came out, the chicken seemed okay and I gave the waitress the all clear, until I got to the middle of the cutlet which was once again raw. I sent the dish back, and the waitress apologized again and again. I opted to just have it removed from the bill and left without eating dinner. As having worked in plenty of restaurants in the past, I was really upset no one informed the manager. I've worked in restaurants in the past that would comp a patrons whole meal for complaining the French fries were cut too thick this was not what I was looking for, but for management to not speak with a customer who was served a raw dish twice in the same night... that to me is just unacceptable. I'm hoping at this point the cook was at least trained on how long to cook a chicken cutlet and to use a meat thermometer if they're not certain. ‍

A friend, who's been here before, invited me to a non valentine's dinner. The atmosphere was very earthy and cozy, the staff was pleasant. The waitress was nice, knowledgeable. We ordered Shrimp Rangon then Lobster Ravioli. The Rangoon tasted fine but too crispy, almost like it was overlooked during the Frying process. The start of the issues was when the Ravioli came while we were still eating the Rangoon, not our waitress but someone else. She was clueless and rude, wanting to put the Ravioli down while there we were still eating and had no room on the table!! We told her to take it back and she had a little attitude! When we later asked for it, the food was barely warm and too salty. We informed our waitress of our discord, she apologized and that was it, she NEVER got the manager! I had to talk to her again and ask for the manager. When he arrived, we explained the situation, he was professional about it and took the Lobster taken off the bill. Will we go back, hard to say!

Our first visit; the main reason we went was to get a gift certificate for someone who lives nearby; no where else looked good. Although they were having a system problem on a very busy day (a wedding party, not the day of, today caused everyone to be busy) so they weren't able to give me the certificate, we found a way to pay and it will come in the mail. But most important thing, both of us thoroughly enjoyed the food. My veggie burger fries and death by chocolate cake, and her steak were spot on. My IPA draft beer was good. We'll be back when we're nearby, which isn't that often.

The restaurant offers good food and quality customer service, with the only downside being one lady. The burger, calamari, and strawberry lemonade were delicious. The only reason for deducting one star was because we had to send back the cutlery and tea due to concerns of something potentially left over from the dishwasher. However, our kind and attentive waitress promptly replaced them. Good job, young lady!

Very inconsistent! Have patron and martinis on tap? Who does that! I don't drink bottom shelf. Months ago I was able to come get an expresso Martini made from scratch now it's on tap and it's garbage. The food is hit or miss as well. I will not be coming back, I have given Chris's establishment more than enough tries.
