The Brasserie At The Langstone

The table with a harbour view that we had booked for lunch was set for afternoon tea and we were told we could't sit there. We insisted (politely) that we should have the booked table and there were many free tables all afternoon. The quality of the food was excellent but we had to wait ages for it to arrive. Ordered soon after 1.30, starters (smoked mackerel) didn't arrive for about 30 minutes, the main course (roast) arrived around 3pm and we didn't finish dessert coffee until after 4pm, having had to ask for each course. The youngsters serving us were doing their best. Apparently, there was another function in another room. Towards the end, the temperature of the room dropped and we, along with others, were sitting with our coats on.

So disappointed with the food I wrote a great review of the hotel as I could not of been happier However the food over priced expensive and I don't mind paying for quality but tonight my husband had cod and chips 18.95 the fish was not cod very mis advertised the chips were cold like bullets my food was not so bad would give a 6 I had gammon steak with egg and pinapple chutney ...very disappointed I'm hoping the breakfast is better ..but please tell the chef to understand the differences between various fish and please don't advertise it as cod ...

A group of 5 of us had a cream tea to mark a 60th birthday. The setting was beautiful and tranquil. Our waitress, Julie, was attentive and obviously keen that we had a good time. Our food was beautifully presented, plentiful and delicious. We were not hurried and had plenty of time for a catchup. I heartily recommend this venue to anyone wanting views and good service alongside their food.

We had a very nice meal with good service but rather slow. When it came to a coffee at the end of the meal it became farcical. It was busy and no fault of the serving staff but it did partially spoil what was a nice meal

The Langstone is an excellent hotel, in hayling island with superb views over the bay. We stay regularly and find the whole experience excellent.
