Thai Orchid Schindler

I'm a big fan of Thai food, but I do find that most Thai restaurant will make their curry very intense and this is not the case in Thai Orchid. That does not mean that they make bland food, it's just lighter and will allow you to eat more before you feel that it's too much (the portion was also generous), and they also give you cilli sauce separately should you wish to spice up your meal.The restaurant is manage by (I assumed) senior couple who are super nice and speak excellent english. The interior of the restaurant is also great as they made it look like you're sitting in a traditional bamboo hut somewhere in south east asia. The clienteles were also relatively quiet so it lets you eat in a very relaxed environment.

Stumbled onto this restaurant by accident as it is a couple of blocks off the Bahnhofstrasse running from the city center to the main station. This is a real find that probably only the local residents know about. The food was well prepared and compared to the best Thai restaurants I have experienced in the states. Thai is my favorite cuisine and the sauces were flavorful and the portions generous. The main dish also comes with a cucumber side salad. The restaurant was presided over by an elegant Thai lady in a beautiful silk suit. Service was excellent and ambience was very pleasant and relaxed.

Went here for lunch a couple of times. The food was always really good. There's a special daily lunch menu that most people are not aware of. It has always been something I wouldn't usually order, but it never left me disappointed in the end.

Walked over to this restaurant as it was located close to our hotel. Wonderful Thai food! We had pad Thai and a curry dish. I would recommend both! Owner was a pleasure to speak to.

Food was excellent en de owners where very nice. They are very childfriendly. Would eat there every day
