I see that a massive change has been made to the decor, which is understandable. .. The menu was, as usual, confusing, but by now weâre used to that. Not many people there, I guess bc of the super bowl; usually more crowded on Valentines Eve. We had a taciturn, not esp helpful waiter, and we had to ask other waiters when we needed things, like steak knives, which our waiter forgot, or to clear off all the dirty dishes before dessert. I realize that Covid made them understaffed, but this waiter just seemed totally uninterested. The main courses were quite good, prime rib and filet, with lobster bisque before, and potatoes and a very long Caesar salad (the leaves were not cut down at all, it was just the lettuce plunked down for you to deal with). And the Grey Goose dirty martinis were the best ever, as always. I had the bananas foster dessert which was hard on one side, and really not that good. I thought Iâd be getting the real thing, made with crêpes and flaming. Oh well⦠It took eons to get the check and by then weâd been there over hrs. So, it couldâve been a better experience â and really, all our other times at Sullivan were excellent. This was the first semi-mediocre one, disappointing at best.
