came here as a guest of the hotel. First, the positive - this is a lobby lounge and decor in Eau is beautiful. The inner lobby in which Stir is located is with several sofas with chairs around coffee tables, smaller seating areas around smaller tables and a small table for two at the fireplace. Very relaxing, elegant ambience! As for our experience in Stir, it was less than satisfying. Long came here, and no one welcomed us. We finally went to the reception to ask if there was a protocol to eat in Stir. We said we could sit somewhere in the inner lobby area as all the tables of the bar were occupied. We sat in a very comfortable sofa area and waited at least 10-15 minutes before we finally catch the eye of a server. We ordered our drinks with water, and the water was unfiltered and tasted. The hotel offers bottles of water at the reception, so our son went back and demanded some bottles of water. So much better. I enjoyed my drink (the blackberry, but my husband didn't taste his beer. Not someone's fault, but he asked the server to compare it with another beer, and she was totally caught by the guard, only said it was easy. It was actually a heavier version of Heineken than my best description of it. As far as food is concerned, we ordered the Tempura Shrimp app and the cucumber salad, described as cucumbers, carrots, scalions, peanuts and Thai dressing . He ordered it without scaling - it came with red onions that were not mentioned in the description. If someone wants scalions, I'd think the server would mention that it comes with onions as they are both in the family of onions, but maybe that's just me. He sent it back to demand one without onions, but they were said to be premixed in the salad of a manager-type person who originally brought the salad. He also ordered the burger who came out in front of our app or salad, we were told to him because they come from two different kitchens. Demanded Cheddar cheese, but received American cheese as well as salad/tomatoes on a separate HOT plate - he was not happy that the spices were all heated by the plate. Also his Waygu Burger was Bland. No salad for him, cheese and spices were unsatisfactory, and the burger was bland. No good food for my husband. The only thing he enjoyed was the Diet Coke he ordered to replace the beer. As for my son and I, we ordered sushi and were very happy with our meals. The record roll was delicious, and I would order it again (if I could convince my husband to return, that is. Our son had the California and Tempura shrimp rolls and enjoyed them very much. The server passed a curse and gave us a thumb up, but our mouths were full and we couldn't comment. She never asked how everything was, just came back at the end of our meal to clear our dishes and didn't even ask if we needed anything else. We also had to ask for cutlery and for the clinks every time the food was brought out by different people. Overall, the service was very lacking. The mentioned salad was not removed from our bill, our server did not thank us, ask for our meal or something, especially since we made it clear that we ordered drinks that we had not yet and had asked about different menu items before we put on our selected items. Maybe she was overwhelmed, but food service at this hotel was less than stellar when we ate in Ocean Breeze and also (expects a long time before someone welcomed us and food took a long time to come. This is our second visit to Eau as hotel guests, and the food service has been distinguished both times. For a hotel of this stature and price-point, we would expect much better food service. We are unlikely to be back as a service to similarly favorable resorts (The Breakers, Four Seasons in Palm Beach offer much better service. Very disappointing.
