Southwark Tavern

I enjoyed my visit and host a friend from the USA, for whom I wanted to show some cool local pubs. Great location near the market, beautiful and airy inside, some beautiful old features like colored windows. Was busy, but not too busy for a June on a Saturday lunch, so pleased to get a table. Friend's nachos saw nice big bubbles instead of the usual opening a package of normal shop boughts. My cod snack was good, and I consumed a few pints of crisp aspall. A very nice alcohol.

Solid corner pub! Nice place to grab a pint after work or just when passing by. Gets busy in pulses, so if there is a line, chill for a few and then you can get right to the front. There is indoor and outside space to sit and prices are reasonable (for the area . They have some snacks, but mostly come for the drinks. Ordered a pint of peroni, a Guinness, and a gin and tonic. All were done well :

Cozy ambience, great food and amazing choices of alcohol. The staff members are very friendly. If you are up for a cozy dinner of British pub food head to the downstairs seating provides a great atmosphere to have those lovely conversations with friends traditional pub food

This place is really cool, especially the basement tables below. Really a nice experience and a good location near the Borough Market. The Steak and Ale Pie was amazing!

My order is on the photo, 17 pounds. Fries with Parmesan, calamari, beer. I didn’t expected a lot, it was quite good. Atmosphere is great, stuff is polite.
