Snooze, An A.m. Eatery

I would not recommend this particular location for any African American patrons. I met a female friend for breakfast. I arrived about 10 minutes prior to our meeting time and was seated fairly quickly. As I waited for my friend, it took 10-15 minutes for any server to acknowledge me or come to my table and just say anything. After my friend arrived, maybe 10 minutes into our conversation, we received menus. We finally placed our orders, 25-30 minutes later, the server came back to the table and informed me that there was a mistake with my order. I have been in this restaurant for over 90 minutes, seated and No Food. At that point, we just got up and left the restaurant. I would not eat this food if it had been offered complimentary. Horrible Experience for 2023, it's not 1963. This is a restaurant, in the business of serving food, should there be selective service based on how you look or the color of your skin? Should I have caused a scene and demanded better service? No, the best thing I could have done to show my displeasure was to do what I did and what I am doing now. I still have a choice on how and where to spend my money, and I will always choose to spend my money with those companies that value and appreciate my business.

I've first discovered Snooze in Phoenix. I've been going to this location frequently. Since I am going alone most of the time, I am usually sitting at the bar.The service was pretty bad today. I placed my order right away, already knowing my favorite.My food came out pretty quick, but the bartender forgot my coffee. I had to ask for it again while I was already eating. The girls behind the bar were more concerned with chit chatting than serving customers. They had their backs turned to the bar almost the entire time while I was sitting there. No questions about how I liked my food, or if I needed anything else or etc. When I was done, I was sitting there for a while with empty plates and empty coffee mug. I had to try to get the girls attention to even get my check. Full ignore mode. Food was great, service was awful.

To go experience was awful. There were 4 employees behind the bar. Everyone ignored the people waiting for to go orders. I picked up my food 20 minutes after it was supposed to be ready. When I gave them my name and said that might be mine, the employee quickly looked and said no and walked away. I had to flag down another employee to give him my name and said it should have been ready 20 minutes ago. He looked in the back and the computer finally realized somebody took my order. They had to make me a new one. The employees were not helpful nor attentive to those waiting. There was about 4 individuals waiting alone side of me. When they gave their name all they said not ready. No other information. I'm very disappointed with their service.

We stumbled across this gem for breakfast, courtesy of the Yelp reviews that we saw. Ambiance was so retro and sunny. Really nice decor. Food was awesome too! We had an omelet, chocolate chip pancakes and the OMG French toast. The French toast was sooooo good!Wish they had this franchise near me in Florida, it'd be one of my favorites!
