Skimmington Castle

When I arrived was greeted by a very grumpy waiter who was rude because he could not understand what I was ordering( I am British from Reigate so no accent) We waited minutes outside and no one came, when i asked the said in...ten minutes but it was very clear they had no clue I had even ordered. The food cam after i hour and the best I can say is it was hot, tased like pre-frozen commercial **** we had the fish pies each costing go with beers all in we paid close to something pounds and it was a very poor and very expensive experience. All young kids working the the girls seem polite but the make waiter needs a good kicking up the ...... I do not recommend this place much better and cheaper pubs around than dont keep you waiting hour for expense **** food!

Whole family get together for belated Xmas gathering. Chosen because of Trip Advisor ratings not disappointed. There is a bar but it’s more restaurant than pub. How they can feed so many so well at the same time escapes me. Loads of staff all running...around keeping customers happy. Plenty of well cooked, not inexpensive food to cater for down to Lou was superb and looked after us all well. Only very minor downside is that you don’t need to be in a rush on a Sunday. We weren’t so it wasn’t a prob. Highly recommended and will return.

as a group of three we decided to eat at the sky and what a tasty bite. we arrived as a big party older ladies, so it was busy. we had waited a little because it was obvious that they were short-circuited;. something that occurs in all the best restaurants. the food was fantastic, nicely cooked, presented and delicious, desfinitiw the wait worth. I have to apologize for one of our parties, who unfortunately was impatient and harassed the personal. however, the staff treated the older dame beautifully and apologised for waiting.

We brought our puppy and all staff were very helpful and attentive, even though we were slightly on edge as it was her first visit. We found the food good quality with generous portions of roast dinner. Quick service and overall very happy with this...country pub

Exceptionally rude and bad mannered staff. Avoid! Had arranged this a while ago for a family get together and really regret it
