Shang Hai - Reservar uma mesa

This restaurant was recommended to us by others, but our experience was not the same. We were seated promptly, surveyed the menu which had a good selection, and ordered spring rolls for starters, then duck with orange sauce with rice and chicken chow mein. The spring rolls were tasteless, just veg, no meat and I gave up and left it on the plate.My partner finished his. When the mains arrived, the chicken chow mein was just greasy mush, with very low grade chicken it was questionable. My duck was similar, although the rice was ok. We could not eat our meals,and when the lady asked, I told her the reason and asked for the bill.To our astonishment, they came to the table with shots, and mints although we did not partake!! Awful, tasteless food, we are not super fussy people. Not surprisingly, we did not return.

Whilst on holiday, we tried to get in to the restaurant on our first night and couldn’t, it was very busy, we thought it must be good so we booked for the following evening. When we ordered our meal we ordered some soup which was tasteless. We had duck which came with a source which should’ve been hoisin sauce, but we worked it out to be barbecue sauce, our mines were tasteless chow mein and beef. Everything needed seasoning and it had no flavour. What a disappointment.

à la carte not buffet. Central. Although it was January, it was v busy. Food and service very good. Excellent value too. Loads of complementary aperitifs at the end!!!!

Fabulous food best I’ve tasted compared to uk staff very friendly and helpful will come back good atmosphere thanks really enjoyed it

Best chicken and sweetcorn soup I've had. Food always delicious. Staff so friendly . Excellent staff, excellent value for money.
