Mixed feedback but over all, pretty good. Quick service from friendly staff is a good start. Duck confit terrine was nice. The garnish had obviously been plated in advance. This meant the smear of sauce had dried around the edges which wasn’t pleasant but the...rest of the dish was nice. The Turkey and pancetta roulade was not a Turkey and pancetta roulade. It was a Turkey roulade with a slice of pancetta (or bacon) on top. None of it was seasoned anywhere near enough if at all but we had salt on the table so I wasn’t that bothered. It was cooked well but a little short on flavour. The desserts were good but again, not great. I’d go back if it wasn’t for the service charge which bill get to, and I did enjoy it. It’s a shame that only a few easily rectified and small niggles prevented a great meal. By the way, there’s a service charge added to the bill. It might have said so on the menu but I didn’t see it. I’d have asked for it to be removed if I had. Putting on your bill is ludicrous. Staff are paid by their employers. If employers don’t think they pay their staff enough, pay them more instead of putting on our bill without asking and leaving the onus on the diner to confront staff. It’s an appalling practice and I wouldn’t have dined there if I’d known about it because I don’t like asking for it to be removed. Tipping is good manners, expected and justified in countries that pay waiters an hour. We used to do that in the U.K. but we don’t allow that any more so your waiter is paid the same as anyone else in the service industry. You wouldn’t tip the till clerk in Asda or the guy that finds the size you want in Next would you? I’ll happily tip good service but the expectation of is rubbish and probably adds up to about an hour unless the restaurant skims some off for itself.

ate from the Vortheater menu, not much choice, but rather quite sufficient. my partner and I ate various appetizers and main dishes that we enjoyed everyone. shared an interesting cheese plate. we sat at the window and enjoyed a beautiful view of the river. service was friendly and professional, restaurant was really busy, but tables well spaced. a visit on the dach is a nice start to see a game. I am not happy about the additional service fee, I would have left a tip anyway.

We visited today for a pre-theatre lunch, the staff where fantastic and really took care of us, the location and views where lovely, but sadly the food wasn't good enough. Lacking flavour, sloppy in texture and unimaginatively presented, esp the children's menu suffered from these....We where disappointed with the food, but we enjoyed being able to just wander downstairs to the show after. Needs to try harder with the menu, esp the children's, very lack lustre.

We booked in here to eat before going to see Much Ado About Nothing. The location is of course excellent for the theatre and being high up you get excellent views of the town. The service is efficient if a bit matter of fact in...the way that the food is plonked down by a different member of staff each time. The food was quite acceptable but in no way exceptional either in taste or presentation.
