Roter Ochse - Reservar uma mesa

My fiance and I stopped overnight in Nordlingen last year as we were riding up the Romantic Road and we were looking for a traditional German restaurant for dinner.We found Rotor Ochse on trip advisor and it was a short walk from our hotel.Walking in, we were initially concerned we had made a mistake as we were the only customers, the decor seemed a little dated and the waiter was in a football shirt!Our concerns were totally unfounded however as the waiter, the owner/chef's son, was very friendly and happy to explain the specials in English (English version of main menu provided).I ordered Bauernpfanne mit kartoffelspalten, wurst and about 6 other ingredients I could not understand..lol Basically roast pork, three different types of sausage, roast potatoes, stuffed pasta parcels all pan fried with a load of bacon, cabbage and onion.Put simply this was the best meal of our trip bar none. It really was fantastic. If there was one complaint it would be there was too much of it! I could not stop until it was all gone so I was completely stuffed!We are in the area again this summer but we won't be staying in Nordlingen however, if I get the chance I will be swinging by Rotor Ochse for another delicious meal!

we were in winter to the Christmas market in nördlingen and the restaurants were quite well visited. we chose the red ochsen because he promised us an authentic giant gaumenschmaus from regional products (even if I still ask myself how to cook this encyclopedia of card freshly). the restaurant is in a historical house, the facility however already looks a bit old-baked and a bit rancid, moreover the service was already overwhelmed from the beginning, although in the restaurant was not even high. After half an hour, we still received the beverage order (we were already about to go, would probably have been better afterwards). from the order until we had finally eaten on the table were then well 2 hours past (no sweat). However, eating was so time-consuming that half of the table had already eaten before eating for the others at all. we had classics like gulasch, frying, swab pan

the food was qualitaiw and quantitatiw excellent. the service despite stress very friendly. all this lets you see easily over the device. happy again!

I just made it and I rely on the recommendation of the house. the friendly service matched the good and rich food.

Very original German cooking with a great host! Cordon Bleu was not on the menu but made to order and was amazing!
