"We have a large number of Thai restaurants around our area, so I like to try a different one every now and again. We ordered a number of dishes for the 3 of us. We found the satay chicken very oily, the prawns very fishy and the pad Thai was just okay. A bit disappointed as we had seen really good reviews. The fried rice was nice but overall found the meal failed to impress. Sadly, I don't think we will be trying this place again."

I love a good suburban restaurant, they are usually family run, lovely food and good value. Although Rice and Lake might be a dollar or two more expensive per dish than the average suburban Thai restaurant, that is because the food is most definitely better than average. Thus it is still excellent value for money. The courtyard dining area out the back is right on Narrabeen lakes so it has an amazing outlook to boot. Great for families, the kids can play out on the grass in full view of the courtyard dining area out the back (where you want to sit anyway). We dined on a Sunday evening and with daylight savings, enjoyed an absolutely beautiful evening. There were four of us and three starters, three mains and rice was enough food and at under $100 was never going to break to bank. All dishes were very lovely with the Betel Leaf Mieng Kham starter (a dressed prawn, coconut, peanut beef and more salad you wrap inside a betel leaf) being a stand-put and the beef Pha Naeng Curry especially delicious.Highly recommended if you are in the area and with family now in the area, dining here will most definitely be on regular rotation.

We had read the reviews, all of which were great but had noticed upon driving by that this was a tiny restaurant. Do Not Be Fooled...There is a front section to the restaurant with a kitchen on Pittwater Road, however the back is a large area overlooking Narabeen Lake.It was a warm night so the area was open however in cooler weather they have a plastic enclosure. The staff were delightful and welcoming. The menu was extensive with a number of unusual Thai dishes which we had not tried before. As mentioned everything was well priced and large portions as well. 4 of us ate and shared - each meal being nicer than the next. It would be difficult to pick a favourite. We also have Take Aways one night and they were delicious as well. This is by far the best Thai we have eaten in Sydney.

We dined at this restaurant on a quiet public holiday evening. The food and service were very good. We had chicken skewers and prawn cakes to start. They were fresh and delicious with a generous serving of tasty sauces to accompany. The menu contained a large selection of main courses. We had three to share between four and they were all very good. The service was professional with all staff greeting us on entry and exit. I suspect the outside dining overlooking Narrabeen Lake is very popular but as it was a slow night, we had a great table with a relaxing water view. Cost was $30 per head (BYO) .

4 of us ate here on a boiling hot night. Place was packed. Glad we chose to sit out back where its cooler. Food was superb. Betel leaves (filling and presentation) and green curry chicken (fresh flavourful sauce) were amongst the best we've ever eaten. The garnishes and overall presentation of all dishes is reminiscent of a 5 star Thai dining experience. Well done Chef! Plenty of staff. My only recommendation would be to write on paper for the staff what GF means and to let them know the ingredients in dishes that mean some dishes aren't GF.
