We visited this restaurant twice for lunch whilst we were in Brittany, and we were all extremely pleased with the charming service and delicious food on both occasions. The first time we were looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful whilst Christmas shopping and the 11 Euro lunch menu fit the bill nicely. We weren't expecting marvels, as our experience led us to expect at least a degree of tinned ingredients in the set menu. This couldn't have been further from the truth. The vegetables were all fresh and there was a good choice of seafood and meat dishes. and the portions were very generous. On our return I had the Christmas set lunch at 24 Euros which was lovely and I had to loosen my belt to make room for the delightful dessert made up of a variety of tiny home made puddings and pastries.
Le Dauphin specialises in moules/frites and we couldn't fault it for food or service. They offer a 2/3 course fixed price menu which includes fresh oysters as a starter. The highlight for us was a traditional fish dish based upon choucroute (sauerkraut) and 4 types of fish including skate wings (raie) - absolutely delicious!
Great food and good sized portions, well-presented. Enjoyed the fresh seafood in particular and the options for those who were not so keen on seafood were also very good. Nice selection of local ciders. Friendly service and a most enjoyable night out. We were a group of 7 and all very content with our experience.
