Recantos - Reservar uma mesa

Located outside of the main tourist area, this quaint bar/café seems popular with locals. There is a large, bright enclosed interior courtyard area, a bar area and a dark corridor which gets minimal light from several front windows and a glass door (where unfortunately all of the smokers congregate, hence wafting foul-smelling cigarette smoke back into the bar). I had a nice breakfast here (toasted croissant, fresh OJ and coffee). Coffee was excellent. Service was efficient and I was left to sit in peace at a small table beside a front window.

We arrived here for a lunch after completing our walk. Staff were so helpful and friendly. We were a big group and the girl was so patient in taking our order. ... so we stayed quite a while and returned each day of our stay for either breakfast or lunch. Most days the same girl was on and we were met with a lovely friendly welcome. Really good food and very reasonable prices

We went for breakfast as it was steps away from our apartment. Service was ok, we had coffee, croissant and eggs for breakfast it was fine. We sat in the back area which provided nice daylight but no charm very cafeteria style décor/ furnishings. That said it was convenient.

This is a good family type cafe. Plenty of room for children to roam around. It is spacious and easy going. We called in for wine a few times. The service was friendly. The wine local and chilled. It is plain and unpretentious. That's about all. Loved the olives!

I stopped here a number of times on this trip. Coffee, beer, wines and cocktails are excellent and are accompanied by generous, fresh tapas. Great option for a mid-day lunch.
