Prairie Ink Restaurant

Admittedly, although I am what I would consider a frequent diner at Prairie Ink for dinner, I have never been for lunch; and in light of this visit, will think twice before going again. Or perhaps it's a different cook during the day. And I say cook, because certainly not a chef at the helm on this visit.Both my companion and I chose the soup of the day "chicken and leek" as our side and not only were there no leeks, it bore neither taste or look of chicken. It was loaded with carrots and celery and definitely beef. When we asked our waitress she disappeared and returned saying it was dark chicken meat. Sorry, but no.My open faced "special" chicken sandwich was tasteless and the chicken breast over-cooked. The tourtiere as much better but I suspect it is frozen and only needs to be reheated in the oven, not "created" at the time.Considering how much I enjoy this restaurant for dinner I am in disbelief at the difference.

My son and I were in the mall, and decided to come here for lunch. We were surprised at how full it was. We had the lunch special -BLTs which were good. I had a broccoli corn soup with mine which was very good. My son had a house salad which he loved. Service was good. People around us were having desserts, and they looked fantastic. We were too full to have dessert, but I think we will come for cake sometime. It was a bit pricey but it was good.

Convenient location but can be very loud . Prices are somewhat expensive . Can be very busy at times but service is good - just a little crowded and noisy .

I like the unique options and break down of what your getting in terms of gluten free, the spice level and vegan options. The food is mainly very healthy.

French Onion soup too salty. African Peanut soup way too thick. Service very slow and had to practically beg for more water.
