Pizza Express Bankside

This location is just a few steps from the Globe Theater. I was happy to see some articles from which vegans were. For a starter I had the Vegan Arancini. It was easy to taste like peas with mint and a little rice. The diving sauce was good, but they gave only a small piece under each piece, so I liked more of it. I had the vegan vegetable pizza. You have two on the menu, but one had an eggplant, so I chose the other. Best Vegan Pizza I ever had it. The crust was thin, light and chewing, not crispy. The flavors worked well. I had no dessert, but they had three vegan options. One was chocolate and crumb, another was sorbet, and the third was advertised as a small part of carrot cake.

Service is very slow on Saturdays when it’s busy. We even got our starters before we got our drinks. I had the vegan jalapeño dough balls, which was spicy and exactly what you’d expect (just bread with spicy dip), and the American Jack classic pizza which was very underwhelming, my husband apologised to me because he felt bad that my meal was so bland. It was my first time visiting any pizza express and i don’t think I’ll go out of my way to visit again

Pizza express always has a selection of options and it’s reasonably priced! I’ve been to this branch a few times now, every time the staff are really sweet, but I particularly go to this one for the lovely view. I got the orto calzone, and the ginger cake. The cake was amazing! I’m 100% going to be returning.

The vegan food is unimaginative and not as good as other chain restaurants near by (wagamamas, zizi, nandos).
