Parrillas Del Mar

The restaurant is situated at the very end of a wide variety of food halls and cafes facing the yacht harrbour of Getxo with 3 cruise line berths only 500.metres away. It is a very attractive location especially if you can sit outside on the two corners of the establishment in fine weather. Very recommendable and relaxing. Edu (Eduardo served us and turned out to be the nephew of the owner and had 20 years experience in the business; 4 to 5 other waiters from ultra mar were no quite so fiendly but polite. We enjoyed grilled prawns, clams in sauce, grilled mullet and cooked hake in Basque style sauce followed by delightful local cuisine dessert the name of which escapes me (bread cream crepe? . All exceptionally good and fresh. If you have money to spend on fresh fish which is now enormously expensive compared to 20 years ago (we've eliminated the stocks this restaurant is good. I certainly recommend Parrillas del Mar. Find Edu the owner's nephew for an excellent recommendation of the latest fresh fish of the day: don't go blindingly in chosing your fancy a la carte.

We have a home near this restaurant. We have eaten there only 4 times over a period of 10 years, and seem to consistently forget why we do not eat there more often. EVERY SINGLE TIME there seems to be a gross error in the amount of the bill. Once? Maybe. Twice? Coincidence. 3-4 times? Crooks. Obviously the modus operandi for this establishment. The flavor of the fish, while fresh, is completely ruined by the so-called chefs who would do better in a fast food restaurant. When the bill arrives, and you assert yourself demonstrating that you have been overcharged, the staff acts falsely indignant and very rudely, including the female manager we had this last summer of 2018. This woman is a manager?!!! Completely unprofessional and not worthy of being in any kind of customer service profession. Save yourselves. Overpriced bad food and rude, unprofessional staff that cheats their customers. There are plenty of other fine better restaurants with the same view that far exceed these lowlifes.

We came here two days ago. The food was great the service was amazing. So we decided to come again. However, one of the waiters was very rude ill-mannered. He shouted at my husband sweared at him. We left the place will never come again. Their loss.

The waiting staff will ignore you if they possibly can. The menu seems promising but the food was very basic and seemed severely undercooked. It felt like we were paying for the location right on the marina with river views.
