Panas, 19 July 2017 I went with my housemate to Panas a few days ago and we had a wonderful time. We've eaten in a few times but got their takeaway dozens of times so knew it'd be great but we were still really impressed with the service and food. I arrived first and was greeted warmly by Sujan, the owner, who also took our drink orders and then my housemate arrived. We were then served by Raffi, who was really friendly and polite. He even remembered me from a previous visit which was about a year ago so that was really impressive. After having the obligatory poppadums with a choice of mint sauce, mango chutney and lime pickle all lovely we were then brought complimentary onion bhajjis which were lovely, really big and accompanied by a really nice sauce. We both thought this was a really nice touch too. I ordered the king prawn malabar with a chapatti and my friend had the Goan fish curry with a chapatti also. We then shared the tarka daal and aloo gobi. All of the food was delicious; it was really tasty and plentiful too. I told Sujan how good it was that there were so many prawns and usually with prawn and especially king prawn dishes, other places tend to skimp on these but not Panas. The meal was really good value especially for the amount we got and the high quality of the food and the excellent and warm customer service we received. I would highly recommend a visit to Panas or at least get their takeaway or do what we do and mix it up and do both on a variety of occasions. You won't be disappointed. Panas is handy for public transport as it's halfway between Lee and Lewisham train stations and the DLR, and close to Hither Green too. Also, as it's on Lee High Road loads of buses go pass it too.
