We stopped here for a late lunch with friends whilst visiting Albury. The restaurant was empty but we were made to feel welcome and by a lady we assumed was the owner. She had a delightful friendly personality and definitely kept us amused! At the end of the meal she got out her piano accordion and proceeded to play a variety of happy tunes! Not something you would expect in a chinese restaurant but it brought a smile to all our faces :) The same lady cooked and served our meals which were very tasty. They have an extensive menu and good drinks list so all in all a worthwhile place to visit if you're in town. Prices were very reasonable too - it's a win win!!
We were looking for somewhere to eat a late lunch. We saw the Pan Lan and walked in. There was no-one inside, when the owner arrived and sat us down. She was friendly and cooked and served us herself. The four of us had different entrees and there were no complaints about any of them. When the mains arrived, they were quite large, and I have to say that mine was delicious. It had a reasonable hint of chili and again no-one had a complaint. The menu is quite extensive and the beer/wine list covers most tastes. We were then serenaded by the owner, playing a piano-accordion, which we all enjoyed. All-in-all, we had a very enjoyable experience at this restaurant.
If you are looking for a tasty Chinese dinner for the family this is not the right choice. They give you soggy honey chicken and below average fried rice. Our children would not eat it and I also could not eat it. Szechaun scallops average. Rang them to tell them $35 dollars of take away ordered was uneadible and was told they always serve it that way unless you request sauce separate. Do not get take away from this place it is awful.
Got back to Albury past 2 oclock found pan lan just before they closed no one in there asked if they were still open and the only lady there said yes let us in then shut the door we ordered and she cooked all her self the food was excellent the mini dim sims tasty the pork in plum sauce excellent the others food fabulous then the lady sat down and played her accordian for us .. the prices very reasonable will be going back!
