Moevenpick Egerkingen

Have stayed at the hotel and naturally had dinner there. The table is always better to reserve before if you are on Friday. Yet let’s talk about the food now! As I was told, Movenpick has always a great quality fish (which is difficult to get in Switzerland), so I went for tuna tartar from the healthy menu with ginger and avocado. The avocado was flavored with fresh chili and the fish was not too « lemony »... all these details just makes the explosion in your mouth with a perfect balance of spices! Therefore, as I have mentioned within a title the service was really professional and nice. Thank you for the dinner !

The dinner in this restaurant was quite well. I ordered the large salad plate and for my husband a cordon bleu with vegetables. The salad bar offers a lot of nuts, salads (different kinds tuna-fish, eggs, tomatoes, cucumber, olives and a lot of other healthy things. Very good ! My husband had a big cordon bleu, well filled with cheese and ham. We also had a bottle of sauvignon blanc, dry white wine. As a desert for my husband, 3 bowls of Movenpick icecream with cream, it tasted well too. For me just a de-cafe. Because we travel to Italy it was a nice restaurant to have diner.

The staff was very welcoming and the expressed wish for placement in the restaurant was respected. They reacted flexibly to our wishes and the food was served promptly. The tartar was very nice, whereby very spicy is still super miled with maximum a small tickle on the tonge. Anyway the only point to critisize was the difficulty to attract the attention of the staff when something should be ordered.

Based on what we ordered, 2 simple dishes, our culinary experience was extremely disapointing. The price, much too high, did not correspond to the quality of the foid served. The service was good and the place was nice.

This place has incredibly good food. Never had chestnuts before and I am hooked now. Family friendly place, a real feel of the locals. Do not miss this place! Really got in the heart of town.
