Mizu Sushi Hibachi

Before I start this review I want to point out that this was New year's eve so this might not be the norm. We had a 6:30 reservation and were sat at about 7:15 which was ok considering the holiday and how busy they were. Orders were taken promptly and food was brought out. The hibachi show was run of the mill with nothing new but still enjoyable. There were two groups of four at our table. The other group had their drinks refilled four times throughout the meal while we were ignored. I understand that they were busy but to sit for an hour with no drink was pretty bad, especially since the other people at the same table were taken care of so well. Overall I would give it another shot to see if this was just because off the holiday except there are about 10 other hibachi places locally.

While the children at the hibachi table clearly were having a good time watching the chef's theatrics, the fun ends there. Flavorless soup, a salad with greens far too wet and dressing far too much, steak overcooked and scallops underdone coupled with what can only be jokingly called a lobster tail made for a very disappointing evening as we ordered the dinner for two at the suggestion of our waiter. Despite the good service, we will not be returning.

Great find in Rockland for hibachi and sushi. The hibachi is good and very reasonably priced, especially compared to other options in the area. The real find here though is the sushi! Just as good as the best in Manhattan and consistently fresh. So happy to have found this gem in Rockland and will be going back and bringing others whenever we're craving Japanese food!

We have been to Mizu about 5 times now. We always have a great time at the hibachi tables. The food is wonderful and the cooks are entertaining. We love it and it is so fun to watch little kids enjoy themselves so much.

Always have a great meal at Mizu. Definitely suggest you go here for Hibachi!
