Mickey's Place Sushi

A long Time Favorite!. When Mickey's was in Forest Hills, I used to eat here once a week. The new location in Bayside is much nicer. Mickey and Jennifer have always served delicious fresh quality sushi at a reasonable price. The Bayside location carries on with the tradition. Mickey chooses his fish carefully and it is always excellent. Some of my off the menu favorites are Salmon Gyoza, Clams, Spinach and the Fresh Cooked Fish. Alot of people really like the Lobster Roll and the Bombs. I like the Uni Ika Sashimi (always excellent in season), Giant Clam, Saba and the Toro. Ask your server (they will ask Mickey or Jennifer) for recommendations. I usually eat at the Sushi Bar and Yen and Weda are always helpful. Yen makes a special custom Spicy Tuna/Jalapeno Hand Roll for me. They have an excellent reasonably priced Sake List. Worth the drive, see you there!

Chef and owner of Mickey’s Place, Michio “Mickey” Moroi has served large sushi for over two decades. In a tiny place opposite the LIRR in Bayside, Queens, Mickey’s Place never fails to satisfy a desire for sushi. It definitely hits all his competitors in and around Queens by making it really solid, good, Japanese food. There is not much ambience at Mickeys, although the narrow space is decorated in bright colors. The focus is on food. Do not go during the “rush hour” times as the kitchen can simply not hold. Weekly days are better than weekends and pick-up or delivery, is always a good option. The service is warm and friendly as Mickey and his wife Jennifer make a winning team. Make sure to order the Luba roll when you go – it is my absolute favorite!

The food was great and everything was amazing, especially the miso cod found on the special appetizer menu. This was my first time here and definitely had a great experience. This is a smaller mom 's and pops type place, but these hidden gems are where you 'll usually find the best food. Kudos!

Manhattan quality sushi.... at Bayside prices. My favorite dish is the salmon bomb marinated in ginger and wrapped in avocado slices. Just thinking about it is my mouthwater. The owner, Mickey is anal retentive with his fish. All Quasi-old is fed to Alley cats.

Freshest, high quality sushi. Worth the drive to bayside! The owners and staff treat you like family and the food is delicious and reasonably priced
