Recently rebuilt and completely updated to the interactive order tablets, I decided to give the “new” McDonald a test drive. While the food has not changed much from its core offerings and taste, the packaging and in-store appearance was overtaken to reflect a more modern appearance and feeling. I visited the location on Northfield Ave in West Orange, I was curious to see how it was against other “new” stores. After I just drove the whole country back and forth, I rebuilt some times at McDonalds. Here's the thing, I'm not a McDonalds fan as much as a loyal occasional guest. I like to see how these big brands entertain and reinvent themselves in the face of so many other great options. The experience here in West Orange was excellent. Music was fun and upbeat and the store itself looks fantastic. Many Instagrammable are looking for pictures. There was a good crowd here and I wounded myself with an older gentleman working on his computer. There are many sockets and the chairs are comfortable. Yeah, they're comfortable. I wrote that! In the past, shops have been designed to maximize speed and efficiency, but to see how Starbucks has monopolised the feeling of “living room” from a business McDonalds, it makes clear that yes, you can hang here, drink coffee, and spend a few hours work done. The older man I talked to mentioned that he worked regularly here and enjoys coffee. I also agree with the coffee, it is very good for the price. I'm evaluating the in-store experience at 5 stars. Staff were quick and friendly, the store was comfortable, and the overall feeling was relaxed and outraged. The ability to order on a tablet in the of is also a great function. The only reason I give the overall rating a 4 is because the food, while good, is not 5 star, as fast as food goes. This distinction goes to another restaurant which I will not call my personal opinion. Good work on rebuilding!
