If you go to Playa de Los Pocillos, in Lanzarote, (if you enjoy walking) you can walk to either Playa del Carmen or Playa Honda which is the other side of Arrecife Airport via a beach front footpath. Once in Playa Honda make your way up to the main dual carriageway and you will find Restaurante May. As I used to live in Spain I always head away from the tourist areas and restaurants to find a noisy restaurant where mainly the Spanish eat. Restaurante May is a typical Spanish restaurant where the local food is excellent, menu del dia is 12€, café con leche is 1.2€, a large brandy is 3€, it has a great atmosphere and best of all hardly any tourists. I would highly recommend if you enjoy traditional Spanish food.x

Very Spanish which wont be for everyone. Translate dishes properly or you may be disappointed. Chicken was not good, in cubes that seemed frozen or substitute.
