"Really good food and friendly service. The outside of the building seems like a small farmhouse. Inside has separate rooms decorated with authentic artefacts. So glad we found this place. Best to book at weekends."

Book first!!! Then you have to look for the 'white chef ' some 800 metres south of San Joan or you will miss it do NOT rely on directions from the TripAdvisor android app. When you get there you will find ample parking and might be a bit surprised to find a somewhat tatty farm building, but head through the door, where shabby quaintness awaits. And that is where chic neglect ends. The lunch menu represented astonishingly good value for €s. At €12.50 you are not going to get prime melt in the mouth beef .... but, oh my, is the offering tasty and not over chewy. With Catalan and Castilian Spanish in your ears, the cuisine is a fusion of quality Spanish country cooking with noticeable Argentinian touches .... such as the chimichurri sauce on the meat, and the empanadas and chorizo criollo on the a la carte list. The crumbed mushrooms could perhaps have had a slightly tarter stuffing, but that is nit picking. The steak was served delightfully rare in the middle more and it would have been spoiled and too chewy, and with welcome vegetable garnish not always common in the 'campo ' of Catalonia. The baked cheesecake has enough cream and berry sauce to complement the 'oven texture '. Wine was a plentiful cooled young red 'joven ' . I would go back in a flash to spend another €12.50.

A must place to visit, but from the road or outside you won 't think so, but trust me, if you like meat, book it and go, it 's s one off, and well worth it! We were a group of 15, so had some starters for the table, so a good selection, then the best massive piece of big Ox cooked perfectly and tasting wonderful, others really enjoyed ribs, but everyone had a great night, and one we will remember for both the food and the building, as well as the service! It 's not Michelin service, it 's just good friendly service.

I dont know if its a good idea to write such a glowing review as its best to keep some treats to yourself and not share, but that would not be in the spirit of TA,this wonderful restaraunt deserves every rosette going for their passion in what they do happy attentive service from Taulla ,Great house wine and superb courses, served with a smile surrounded by some querky antiques I felt very much at home will come back when the sun shines and we can eat al fresco .

I have been for lunch with my family. We did not book a table and it was almost imposible to get one as they were fully committed but the friendly waitress did hers best for us and finally we could have lunch in this charming and quirky restaurant.
