Came with the recommendation of 'the' place to try for breakfast in the area and it didn't disappoint.Stopped in for Saturday morning breakfast, hadn't booked and were lucky enough to get a table for 2. It is small so as you can make reservations, perhaps when not a mid-winter morning it might be advisable.Parking would be easy as there are lots of spaces close to the river and a lovely area to walk/cycle in and enjoy and use this as a breakfast stop along the way Food was gorgeous. Fresh juices and good coffee also. Simple dishes, but really tasty and made with much love by the chef. I had the thyme mushrooms, which were inhaled. All the dishes that came out looked good. Portions were ample and all served by really nice staff. The lunch and dinner menus also looked good, so would definitely be worth a go and a lovely spot to enjoy a nice meal. Prices were reasonable. 2 meals, with a couple of sides of bacon, juices and coffees for $65. Locals seem to love it, but if you're passing through in the area, make a detour in your uber or cab, you'll not be disappointed.

Visited this spot to catch up with some friends from Canada. We agreed to a civilised 11am meeting time as they had flown in late the night before. Have been to this cafe a number of times and had always enjoyed excellent service and food. On this occasion however I was disappointed when told that breakfast had finished (I arrived at 10.45) and that lunch was fully booked. No ones fault of course but given it is Sunday it would have been nice for an all day breakfast to be on the menu. I'll still go back but wanted to warn others of this little pit fall. Advice is to eat breakfast earlier and BOOK or you will be disappointed.

We went for lunch and the service was great from the minute we walked in. The chicken wings for entree were beautiful then I had the beef short rib which was so tender and the Asian salad that went with it was divine, my partner had the fish of the day which a bit fishy for me but overall the food was fantastic. We wanted to try the desserts because they looked so good but we were too full. We will definitely come back and try more.

My partner and I were walking around the park in Newstead and came across this lovely cafe located on the riverfront - which we thoroughly enjoyed!! We ordered 1 x braised beef cheeks and 1 x chicken sandwich. You can taste the love that the chef put into each serving. Staff were very friendly, checked to see if the food was cooked to our expectation and made sure we always had water on the table. Great experience.
