I have passed it by many times without entering, and I shall again, but I shall look in curious to see who is seated at one of the dozen of tables under dark wood, red lights and signs and souvenirs of the fifties. When I was there recently, the substitute server recommended the avocat w/ crab over the green lentil salad; it was served with a pile of crab on the plate; it would have looked better and certainly tasted better with a little olive oil and lemon juice. The avocado was perfectly ripe, and the sauce which almost filled the empty avocado shell was tasty. Not only were the quenelles (recommended over the Basque chicken) pasty, dense and tasteless, but also they were served covered with an equally tasteless brown gravy which was splashed on the otherwise well prepared basmati rice. The clafoutis this evening was a Tarte Tatin served with a blob of what I took to be cream cheese or possibly creme fraiche. The TT was actually delicious which belied its desiccated look. There are many places in the neighborhood where you can eat better & more appetizing looking food almost as cheaply. When the bill came the substitute had added an extra Euro to the price of the Quenelles. Considering I only tasted them, left most of both of them and indicated that I didn’t like them, they missed a chance to offer me another plate or at least not overcharge me the menu price for that one. I normally don't write a review after only one visit nor do I like to waste my efforts on a place where I don't want to go back, but I was sufficiently intrigued by the disparity of the reviews to offer my observations."

I went there for a quick bite to eat at lunchtime. Situated just across the Marks and Spencer food shop, this is a typical small French bistro with no frills attached. For 18 euros you can choose a main and dessert or starter and main. The food is of good quality ( I had the steak cooked to my liking and served with sautéed potatoes and caramelised onions) and the dishes advertised as homemade. I had a generous portion of the apple and pear clafouti to finish and it was lovely : moist, full of fruit, and served warm. I think this is a quaint little place, the service is friendly and the prices reasonable.

We initially went to the main restaurant in this group and they were full. A member of the staff recommended we visit their sister restaurant and gave us very good directions. The service was pleasant and the food was quite good. I would recommend a return visit. The lamb was prepared very nicely and correctly.

This restaurant is around the corner from our favorite hotel in Paris so we eat here at least once every trip. Bistro classics always well executed with impeccable service. IF the duck confit or the lamb chops are on the menu then by all means order them.
