I was taken to Lo Exquisito Del Mar Buy my awesome tour guide, and I was not disappointed. The seafood looked and smelled amazing, and my friends loved their's. But I do not eat seafood, as I am vegetarian. Location: The neighborhood is very nice...and safe. There is street parking and people who help you find a spot. You should give them a little tip. Service: The service was great, however you will need an English speaker with you. It's not the fast in-your-face service that you get in the US, but it is sufficient and friendly. Atmosphere: The tables and seating are simple, modest, and plentiful. This is a popular place. It has mostly locals, but a few tourists as well. Eating here feels like an authentic Colombian experience, because it is. Food: being a vegetarian, I just had side dishes, but they were delicious. These included tostones, which are pressed and fried plaintains, fried yucca, coconut rice, avocado, and a salad. Everything was amazingly fresh and delicious. The coconut rice was my favorite, and the avocado was absolutely perfect. To drink, we had a pitcher of guarapo, which is made from sugarcane and lime. The names are used for these foods in this review our what these foods are called in Miami. The names at the restaurant are a little different, but they'll know what you're asking for. The best part about the food for me was how clean it was. I say that because nothing on my plate had even the slightest fishy taste to it. In the US, I have never found a seafood restaurant that kept the food separated enough for me my taste. Kudos. Price: this place was extremely reasonably priced. We even ordered extra avocado and expensive meals, but our bill with tip only came out to around $40 for three men. I loved Medellin and will keep going back. When I do I will eat at this restaurant every time.
